Meet Your Bookkeeper

From Treatment Room to Balance Sheet

Hi, I'm Stephanie. I spent years as a Licensed Veterinary Technician — restraining fractious cats, running anesthesia, and watching the business side of veterinary medicine from the inside.

I saw how chaotic the financial side was. Front desk drawers that never balanced. End-of-day reports that nobody checked. Inventory that walked out the door. And in more than one practice, I saw what happens when trusted employees exploit those gaps.

That's why I started Shadow Bookkeeping. Because veterinary practices deserve a financial partner who understands what happens behind the exam room door — not just behind the spreadsheet.

Why It Matters

The LVT Credential Isn't Just a Title

It means I can do things your generalist bookkeeper can't.

Categorize Correctly

I know that a Covetrus invoice contains pharmaceuticals, surgical supplies, AND office supplies — because I've ordered all of them. Proper categorization means accurate COGS and real margins.

Spot Clinical Fraud

Phantom appointments, voided rabies certificates, personal pet treatments on house accounts, controlled substance discrepancies. I know where to look because I've seen it happen.

Speak Your Language

You shouldn't have to explain your business to your bookkeeper. I already know what Cornerstone reports look like, how boarding revenue cycles, and why surgery estimates matter for cash flow.

How We Work

Our Commitments

Radical Transparency

You'll always have access to your books. We don't gatekeep information or create dependency. If you need to switch providers, we'll make it seamless.

Proactive Protection

We don't wait for problems to find us. Every engagement includes ongoing monitoring and quarterly vulnerability reviews. Prevention is cheaper than recovery.

No Jargon, Real Insight

Monthly video walkthroughs of your financials — not static PDFs you never read. We translate numbers into decisions you can act on.

Let's See If We're a Good Fit

I'd love to hear about your practice or business. No sales pitch — just an honest conversation about whether I can help.
